In the past couple of months, we have seen far too many incidents of people being arrested after being involved in an accident in a work zone in the Greater Boston area and throughout the Massachusetts. While even a single drunk driving accident is one too many, we have seen around half a dozen drunk driving accidents in Boston and Revere, and state officials are trying to do whatever they can to stop this. We have already seen increased safety patrols by Revere Police, Chelsea Police, Boston Police and the Massachusetts State Police (MSP).
Now, according to a recent news article from the Boston Globe, the state has just launched a new campaign to make it safer for highway workers and curb this recent blight of drunk driving incidents in the Commonwealth. The recent effort is said to be a “two-pronged” campaign. The campaign will focus on educating the public about the dangers of drunk driving and increasing drunk driving patrols in work zones. Both of these prongs are designed to save lives and keep workers and others on our streets and sidewalks safe from drunk drivers. Continue reading
